find out what's wrong with it, and find a mobile mechanic, get parts yourself and pay them in CASH. it'll be a lot cheaper and is what i've always done. that's how i got a new clutch done for under £150 and a new wheel baring for £80 xx

Do you get RAC or AA do a full 300 point check before buying second hand cars? …as I have found that is an essential thing .. as a bad clutch could have been picked up even months before it fails & head gasket going is generally preventable if things like coolant/temp etc oil.. checked & serviced regularly. When I bought my car the rac picked up on the fact the coolant bottle had a leak.. which if not picked up on at that check I could have had similar problem down the line.. the car showroom fixed it & a couple of other issues & gave me £200 off for some damage found on the alloy wheels.. like anything you can’t always pick up on everything but it does give some indication if a problem may be brewing. Sorry you’re having a lot of bad things happening at the moment.. I hope life starts picking up again.

Honestly I’ve been over cars for years. Same happened to me with a BMW I had on a loan, ended up with no car and a loan I still had to pay off 🥴 so I don’t care anymore I buy Toyotas for like 1-2k and they just don’t die, no car debt anymore, when it gets ropey I just buy another cheapy outright. Currently my husband has a £800 aygo 😂 and I have a £1500 rav4. They have outlasted the bmw… work that out

research toyota or honda you can buy these older models and some go 300,000 miles. toyota pronus....honda crv etc.......

You poor thing! I'm the same never have any luck with cars! I've just bought a Honda and that has (fingers crossed) been the most reliable yet but they all go wrong no matter what brand I've found🥺

This is our situation constantly! However it’s also the garages that have caused issues with our old car and then we couldn’t prove as had a few jobs done between 3 garages! A screwdriver was left in the bonnet, wrong battery put in for a start-stop motor, and then they cut and sneakily duct taped a radiator pipe which caused nothing but problems and that was also my well loved C-Max 😩 fingers crossed it doesn’t come out as expensive xx

I've been without for a year. Can't afford one . When the clutch went after spending stupid amounts of money on the MOT which went on a credit card I just threw my arms up. I can walk to work. I was done with this car! My kids are adults now so I have no dependents so it's doable for me. I literally can't afford to run a car now on my finances and I had the smallest, cheapest car. 🫂 here is a massive hug.

ok...so bad things comes in 3s right? you must be done now! I had one car for 10 years and someone smashed into it when I had it for 1 week, had a new door put on and could hear wind when driving ever since 😂 we just roll with it now

In the nighties I had my car broken into 3 times in a month. I was on first name terms with the windscreen/glass guy. My house was also broken into that month too. 😳

The past 2 years my car has cost me over 2k in repairs on different occasions. £400 here £500 there 🙄 one of these times we broke down on motorway with my 7 month old it was so stressful x

I be had so many problems with old cars including having an awful blow out doing 70 mph with my baby in the car on a motorway. I’m almost phobic about braking down now so I caved and got a new car on finance 😳
