This one hit me because I’ve spent so much of my life worrying about how I exist in other people’s minds. Do they think I’m too much? Too impulsive? Too emotional? Too ambitious? Too unconventional? Did I make the right choice? Do they understand why I left, why I stayed, why I changed my mind, why I’m changing my life? And lately I’m realizing how impossible that game is. People don’t see us objectively. They see us through the lens of their own experiences, wounds, expectations, desires, fears, and even the role they’ve already decided we play in their story. I know this because I’ve done it too. I’ve put people on pedestals. I’ve fallen in love with potential. I’ve explained away things that hurt me because I wanted so badly for the story I had created about someone to be true. I’ve given people endless benefit of the doubt while questioning my own intuition. And eventually I had to learn that seeing someone through loving eyes doesn’t necessarily make the version of them I created real. The same is true in reverse. Some people will misunderstand me. Some will adore me. Some will judge choices that make me feel more alive than I’ve ever felt. Someone might look at my life and think I’m lost while I know, deep down, that I’m finally finding myself. And maybe freedom is realizing I don’t have to manage any of those versions of me. This chapter of my life has been about becoming less interested in being understood and more interested in being in alignment with myself. I’m allowed to change. I’m allowed to start over. I’m allowed to want more. I’m allowed to build a life that doesn’t make sense to everyone else. I’m allowed to stop romanticizing people and start romanticizing my own life. Because at the end of all of it, I’m the person who has to live inside my choices. So maybe the question isn’t: “How do they see me?” Maybe it’s: “How do I choose to see myself?” And right now, I choose to see someone who is still becoming. Someone brave enough to question the life she thought she was supposed to want, walk away from what no longer fits, and keep moving toward a life that feels expansive, peaceful, adventurous, abundant, and entirely her own. 🤍 Other people can keep their version of me. I’m busy creating mine. #SelfWorth #HealingJourney #PersonalGrowth #dailymotivation #keepgoing
