Failed the hearing test initially, told me I had “total hearing loss in one ear”, got me to redo the test and pressed it every 2/3secs, told me I had an attention issue instead and that I passed 😭

I was in the TA for 9 years during 70's/80's no compo for me. It was only 10 years later that I found out I could have got compansion but by then it was too late. Good old SLR.

My dad tells the story about his mate in the RAF, blind in one eye and passed his medical. Put his left hand over his left eye, then put his right hand over the same eye. It was the early 70's and he is known for great stories.
