I completely understand this. My dad never showed affection or love. He was the first man to break my heart. But I don’t blame him either cause that’s how he was raised. I asked Allah I want a husband that is nothing like my dad and Subhanallah he’s the best man I’ve never met. He’s shown me more love than anyone ever has, he’s healed my trauma’s and he’ll never know it. Fathers need to do better and break cycles that their own parents enforced on them.

I got my first phone when I was 17 and now I’m 19, and I’m so grateful my parents decided to give it to me late. Now I realise how lucky I was to live my teenage years without a phone alhamdulliah

Having a trusting and good relationship with your kids will fix majority of what you are worried about but the connection is what most parents are missing. Authoritarian parenting styles never work, they just make your children lie and fear you, which results in them making many mistakes because they don’t trust what you are teaching them. Focus on having a good connection with your children so that they come to you for guidance and look at you at a good example. People want kids but don’t do the inner work they need in themselves first. Most parents project on their children and it manifests negatively in the way the children act. However children will make mistakes no matter how they are raised, but the parents reaction to it is what’s most important.
