“I saw the Jax Glow” Surprise, another TaDC edit, and this time it’s everyone’s favorite purple loser! I find Jax to be a compilation of complex contradictions. But at the center of his character to me is a deep, deep sense of self hatred. It’s why he hides so much of his real identity from people. It’s that self hatred that makes him such a bully but also such a loser. Now, it doesn’t excuse his actions but I find it interesting how much of Jax is truly a facade. His mask slips now and again , especially around Pomni but all his talk about “masculinity, his humor even his cruelty to an extent feels forced. He doesn’t seem to always buy into his own illusion and I find that very interesting. His self hatred seems self made, a prison of his own creation.
