It has nothing to do with Macron himself, it's a local power struggle between different factions of Islamic Jihadis, ppl think that because the Western Media doesn't report on it, Syria is a normal country again, after the decade-long civil war, but it's far from being a functional state. The new Syrian military is made of the loosely- controlled different Jihadi rebel factions who overthrew the Assad dictatorship, there are also independent factions who oppose Jolany as the new ruler because they see him as a traitor to Islam since he is seen as in alliance with "Infidel" Western leaders such as Trump- and Macron. Jolany has survived several assasination attempts so far, no one knows though if he'll survive the next ones. Different Sonni Jihadi factions also target the remaining Syrian minority groups, the few Christians that haven't fled the country yet, the Alwayts in the West, the Druze in the south and the Kurds in the east, all are suffering daily attacks by those Syrian military forces and independent rebels. It's a big mess, with foreign jihadis still coming into the country unchecked, by illigal border passes crossings, but naturally since Israel is not involved in it there is zero coverage of any of it, same as there's no coverage of the Pakistani military attack on a hospital in Afghanistan that killed 400 ppl recently, or any of the other weekly massacres in that Pakistani/ Afghan border region. No Jews- no news, as the saying goes.
