We often receive requests for videos and this was by far our most requested topic in the last month. This needed no talking or explanation as Howard letterpress printed two numbers. We had to get out some large wood type that was made in the late 1880s by the Hamilton Wood Type Company for this. The typeface is French Clarendon and the type is 20 line pica (3 inches) in height. The print states “6 7.” This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press, which was made in 1852. #SacHistoryMuseum #typography #sacramento #museum #67
