Google TV and Android TV are the same thing. TV boxes are for smart TVs such as Samsung, Hisense, LG, Toshiba etc these are smart TVs which need a TV box to convert smart TVs to Google TV. Google TV are TCL, Skyworth no need for a TV box I thank you leadership

This is a poor explanation, all Google TVs are smart TVs. The main difference is the operating system(OS) which the TV uses, Samsung for example uses Tizen and LG uses WebOS. And then there are other brands that adopted Google/Android OS like for their TVs, Skyworth and TLC. TVs that run google system have more variety compared to the other systems. I have an LG TV which runs WebOS, I can download apps but their App Store is limited to Google tv
