I don't agree. Knowing God love me results in me wanting to live a holy life. You see, God's goodness leads to repentance. When I as a sinner learned about the Father's unconditional love I wanted to know Him more.

That’s your perspective- unconditioned is that He loved us before we even know Him. And He sent His son as a sacrifice for my sins even before I come to know Him. That’s unconditional love. I receive His salvation when I acknowledge Him and confess my sins.
