They downgrade the achievement of the other man bcuz he won most of the things Ronaldo wanted to win(Most golden boots, most ballon d'or n a world cup trophy) and labelled it rigged. Now they measure their goat debate using EPL and EURO Ronaldo won that the other man didn't even played in. If the EPL was so good n competitive y didn't he remain there but later came to La Liga. Of all the UCL he won none came from his EPL time n with his 5 ballon d'ors he won only one playing in the EPL. Most of the goat's in football never played in the EPL but they somehow played in La Liga n they all have a world cup trophy to their names. The likes of (Maradona, Zidane, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo Nazario, Johan Cruyff) among others. You might like Ronaldo, you might idolize Ronaldo, Ronaldo might be your influence into football but that doesn't make him the greatest footballer of all time over Messi and other greats. An idol or role model is different from someone who plays the beautiful football and defines the game through historic moments and achievements. Ronaldo and his fans would have been the happiest footballer and football fans if they never compared themselves to Messi but at the same time is their greatest achievement for being compared to Messi the greatest.
