I think the symmetry point is actually one of the stronger parts of this. People do have a tendency to assume reality should be neat and balanced, and that's not how science works. But I don't think this really addresses the actual argument. The greater male variability hypothesis isn't based on aesthetics, it's an empirical claim that can be tested and challenged with data. If the evidence is weak, criticize the evidence. Saying people just like symmetry doesn't really refute the hypothesis. The last point about patriarchy being a horizontal structure is interesting too, but it feels underdeveloped here.

I feel like I agree with you politically but you haven’t given any evidence to disprove this apart from saying it doesn’t have to symmetrical? Like of course it doesn’t have to be but that’s what all the evidence suggests and there’s nothing to suggest the contrary?
