This video was taken for my neurologist and I wasn’t going to post it, but I saw a post today and the comments that followed and I realized awareness is SO important. So here is the end of a tic attack as things were starting to calm. Tics are exhausting and they’re painful and when an attack happens it’s like one after another after another. These attacks can last minutes or they can last hours and it’s so miserable to go through. If you know me in person you know I don’t swear yet here I am with a condition that makes me swear, that at times has me bringing down my family because of the crazy things that Tourette’s makes me say. It’s not a switch, you can’t just turn it off you have to let it run its course. I don’t mean the things I say and I don’t think these things on a regular basis either. That’s the worst part. But thankfully I am surrounded by an amazing support system. He was my boyfriend at the time but it now my fiancé, my mom is recording but also trying to support me through it and my brother isn’t involved today but when he is around my tics he helps me laugh it off which is much needed at times! Tourette’s doesn’t define me, it’s not who I am, it’s just a part of my story. 🙂 #tourettes #tourettesawareness #ticsandtourettes #ticattack
