Poor spinal mobility can affect you way more than you think Your spine is meant to move! 1. Limited breathing because if your ribcage and upper back can’t move well, you can’t fully expand your lungs leading to more shallow, inefficient breathing. 2. Poor posture because stiffness through the spine makes it harder to hold a neutral position so you fall into rounded shoulders or excessive arching 3. Lower back pain or stiffness because your spine isn’t sharing movement properly so the lower back can end up doing too much 4. Neck pain/stiffness because a stiff upper back forces the neck to compensate (esp with desk work or looking at screens) 5. Limited overhead movement. While this also has rod with shoulder mobility, if your upper back can’t extend, you’ll struggle to get your arms overhead without arching your back or flaring your ribs! 6. Stiff when turning or twisting. Your everyday movements feel restricted! You turn/twist more than you think. If you notice any of these, it’s time to start working on your spinal mobility.
