Where I practice, in Illinois, absolutely none of these questions would be allowed at a preliminary hearing. At a preliminary hearing the sole issue is if there’s probable cause that a felony was committed by the defendant. Prosecutors basically present the bare minimum in about 2 to 3 minutes and the defense is only allowed to ask a few questions and probable cause is found like 99% of the time. For serious cases like this, the prosecutors just indict with a grand jury they don’t waste time putting on all these witnesses
