At my favorite restaurants in Brazil I tip $20 in the beginning, plus the normal tip at the end. Every time I return they pull me out of line, give me my favorite table and it has my favorite drinks on it already 🤷🏻♂️

Tip at check in… so when you ask for an upgrade you have a better chance. Tip at your first cocktail at the dinner table… will get you better service.

We always tip at the beginning at gatherings and it really does make a difference. Of course you tip twice, at the beginning and at the end.

It’s a very smart thing to do. I learned this years ago from a dear friend. It guaranteed a table whenever she called at many hot spots here in Los Angeles.

Where I come from, we don’t tip the staff in money at the beginning (it’s just not culturally sth we do), but most of the time we say “have a drink from us”. At the end we always tip too!
