I think Unbound Pushes the limit of what a Pokemon design is. And it is still a Pokemon, but it also looks like it could be somewhere else. Like Yokai Watch.

I think the unbound form actually informs the bound one and thats why I love both so much. Bound hoopa is restricted and not at full power so his meek presence, strange stat distribution and lesser typing actually work pretty well. Hoopa bound is my fav pokemon tho so maybe its just bias
