I mean, sometimes people stop talking to people they love because they were tired of being hurt. A friendship goes both ways. Not saying you were wrong, I have no idea what happened in your situation. But I cut my friend off because I was tired of being invalidated in that friendship. 28 years of friendship, gone.

Normalize outgrowing and moving on with out having to have a whole closure episode. Sometimes we just realize the friendship has ran its course. Nobody is to blame. We still love those friends, but they are just not our people anymore.

I am this friend, I’d rather chose to walk away than talk about the things she did wrong, she never considered me as a friend btw. She has no self awareness. I tried to talk it out to her before but she always responds that i am just jealous and i have different life perspective. It’s never easy to cut off someone who you considered as a friend for years. She wasn’t bothered anyway and she even called me irrelevant. I already forgave her just hoping to find people who truly and genuinely care about me, a friend who brings peace not chaos.

I think most of those “friends” aren’t even mad at you, they just got “better” other friends they just regularly see without having to put much effort in the friendship (like at work, through a hobby etc) so they just stop talking to you bc it is too much for them to reach out regularly and they never really cared much about you to begin with or you both just shifted apart in your interests and way of life which for they are not interested in you staying in their lives anymore.

But if they always have the same problems because of that person’s actions or comments, and they’ve already talked about it, then distancing yourself is something that should be done. That’s not what friendship is about.
