One hundred percent. Between that and the Vashta Narada two parter I was so scared of Doctor Who as a kid that I wouldn’t watch it properly until I was sixteen. Of course, now those are two of my favourite episodes.

Having well written episodes like this sprinkled/woven into a series again would be great. Writers like charlie Brooker,Reece Shearsmith,Steve Pemberton or someone with a similar mindset/approach would do a new series good. Trouble is i dont think the beeb are sure what they want Who to be,and they probably dont wish to scare children,however this has always been part of "what who is" or could be,if done the correct way. It is a sci fi show,with many layers.
