@refsneedlovetoo: IMO this is a legal throw-in per the Laws of the Game. In this particular instance, you can easily make the argument that all of the conditions are met at the moment the player delivers the ball. Even if you think it is a foul throw, the officials can play advantage since Mexico immediately gained possession. Additionally, 80% of throw-ins are turned over in three passes or less. They are generally an inconsequential restart in the defending half of the field. Many teams will now immediately kick the ball directly out of bounds on a kickoff to force their opponents into a throwing in the defending half of the field. Officials will generally look the other way on procedural issues, such as lifting the foot on a throw in so that they can just get the game restarted quickly and keep the flow of the match going. What do you think? @FIFA World Cup @England #FIFATikTokCreator #FIFAWorldCup #mexico
I was screaming illegal throw in at the TV. Seeing it frame by frame though and not live you’re absolutely right. It was legal. But honestly, when was the last time an illegal throw in was even actually called?

This is another law I think they should change anyway. I have yet to see any advantage gained by the back foot coming up.

there was a play in about the 70-90 min where mexico goes for a header. The Mexican player is held blatantly but isn't able to make a play on the ball (imo bc of the holding). can you talk about that?
