I was on a cruise ship when Code Oscar was announced. The ship circled back and stayed in the area for 2 hours until the Coast Guard arrived and took over the search.

Yes I was working on cruise ships in the 80’s and a report of a person overboard from a Carnival ship, we were sailing from Miami to Nassau and about 8 ships joined in looking for this person, it was an incredible sight to see all these ships at night. After about an hour the ship I was on actually spotted and managed to get the person back onboard alive. It turned out that he had an argument with a friend on the Carnival ship and he was knocked overboard and the other person was arrested for attempted murder.

I worked on cruise ships and we had someone jump they never found him if you jump or fall more than half way back you get sucked under and spat out the propellers 😳

Yes..I was on The ship Visby when a young man 18 years old took his life..He jump over board and smach in to my window before hit the water so i coud see him smach to my window and then the water..the boat stop and helikopter come and look for him but it was to late..it was in the 80s from visby sweden to Nynäshamn Stockholm 🙏🫶

I did 24 years in the Navy. No one just falls overboard. They jump, they get blown overboard by jet blast or rotor wash from helicopters during flight operations, or they get thrown overboard because they are a shit bird. There are too many safety features/precautions on a ship for someone to just fall over the side.

I literally was woke out of a deep sleep hearing " man overboard " later, to find out that a crew member jumped to his death after fighting with his girlfriend on a phone and his coworkers witnessed this. He put his phone down and wallet down and said, i'm done and jumped off the fourth deck. it was not a fun cruise for me at all. I felt so bad for that guy
