@brunchwithbabs: Do those nasty ticks make you scared to go work in the yard or take a hike? Here is how I keep ticks away from me and my loved ones….. Apple cider vinegar - Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar with 1 part water. Spray onto skin and clothing to help repel ticks. Vicks VapoRub - The smell of menthol and camphor in this ointment may help repel ticks when applied to skin, clothing, shoes, and outdoor gear. I like to use a layer on my socks when I am working in the garden because socks are easily washed, and ankles and legs are prime low targets for ticks. Lint Roller - Use a lint roller as soon as you come in from outside to check for ticks. Just roll the lint roller over skin and clothing, and any little buggers sticking to you will end up on the roller and not you! Kids find it fun to be rolled too, much better than regular old tick checks. And that, my friends, is how you repel ticks and enjoy the great outdoors all summer long!
