@unbox_factory: Boeing's Everett Factory: One 777 Rolls Out Roughly Every 9 Hours Boeing's Everett facility in Washington state is the largest building by volume in the world, and a 777 aircraft rolls off its assembly line roughly every 9 hours during peak production. Robotic arms install wing sections with alignment accurate to a fraction of a millimetre, while massive GE90 engines - each weighing more than 8 tons - get lowered into position by overhead cranes with almost no margin for error. While the exterior structure takes shape, separate crews simultaneously install hundreds of seats and interior panels inside the fuselage, compressing what could otherwise be a much longer sequential timeline. By the time the finished aircraft reaches the tarmac, it has already completed its first systems checks. A plane costing over 300 million dollars, built in less than half a day. #boeing #aerospace #manufacturing
