This is a traditional Thai dance performed to honor the Naga, a mythical serpent-like deity that resembles a dragon and holds great significance in Buddhist beliefs and local folklore. Many local communities believe that paying respect to the Naga will bring rainfall, ensuring enough water for agriculture, making the land fertile, and protecting it from drought. They also believe the Naga blesses people with good fortune and prosperity. This festival is held every year in northeastern Thailand. Thailand is divided into several regions, each with its own unique local traditions, customs, and cultural heritage. Ingfa also has a Naga statue in her home because she shares this belief. She often travels to different sacred sites to pay respect to the Naga, and doing so brings her happiness, peace of mind, and a sense of spiritual fulfillment.
