I don't want to pull my plants 😩. I'm having problems with little black aphids. They're suckung my pumpkins and cucumbers dry. Of course it's hot in Mississippi.

you absolutely canned water in the middle of the day. plants use photosynthesis, it requires both light and water. just water in the middle of the day if that's the only time you can do it. there's nothing wrong with it

Petty Argument :
Too much fertilizer for them to metabolize in a heat wave isn’t good but if they’re running out of nutrients you should still replenish them. I wouldn’t let pests have a plant and I wouldn’t pull it either. I’d wait until evening or morning and spray them with a pesticide.
