My son can’t wear sunscreen 😭 he has photo allergic contact dermatitis. We finally found an allergist who can do a patch test on kids to see which specific chemical it is. But we’ve tried mineral based ones like the allergist recommended, but haven’t had any luck so far we’re hoping to get some answers and get my son a sunscreen that will work for him.

I can't wear sunscreen with zinc in it. I didn't use it for many years until I figured it out. I had a cousin die of skin cancer so it made me nervous. My problem was I burned when I wore it but I have olive skin so I didn't burn if I didn't. I figured the rays were safer than burning.

As someone that had malignant melanoma at 19, sunscreen is non-negotiable. The anti-sunscreen talk makes no sense to me.

People can also cover up if they don't like sunscreen. They have hats, sun shirts and even face covers. But people don't use them.

My boyfriend does not believe in sunscreen but does believe in science. What should I say to him to get him to wear sunscreen? He thinks it doesn't do anything or clogs your pores?

I look 10 years younger because I prioritized SPF on my face earlier than most people. My coworkers thought I was Gen Z and I’m in my 40s. It was the best compliment I’ve ever gotten in my life. And huge bonus, no cancer! Whatta ya know!

I mostly stopped using spray sunscreens for a possible connection. but even if you aren't using it, wouldn't you use spf clothing or hats and such. like I hate putting on sunscreen but I avoid overly sunny and use sunscreen when I'm out doors. I know daily use is best but sensory nightmare. but do something to protect the largest organ in your body. it spreads so fast because it's already over your whole body.

I know someone that has had Basil cell skin cancer removed over 12 times, when I said I use spf every day, he said he doesn’t use it because it’s not safe!!!!! 😳 I was so confused, I couldn’t even respond!

There was a study a bit back that confused some people. Basically people were over confident with sunscreen and ended up not reappling and getting overall worse exposure levels. The sunscrern helps but it has limits.

I grew up with a mom that believed these things before it was ever trendy. its scary to watch it become mainstream now that im older and ive grown out of the ideas. she still gets upset when she sees me putting sunscreen on my children
