I stopped using it after they started rewarding players for scanning buildings. You had to have certain features on your phone so it could scan and they would take about 10 mins to do. It just felt very gross so I stopped using it.

nintendo should be upset that their IP was used to lure customers for this reason. pokemon go was a great game, I loved going out to local group walks, sense of community etc. this is absolutely wrong.

I hate to be that person but it was pretty obvious it wasn't for funsies... maybe it's because I played ingress before Pokemon go, there's a scanning system in that game too, the moment they implemented it I was like hmmmm what's the goal behind this?
