I started a garden last year, I added cempasuchil this year and when intell you they are now everywhere! I also do peppers, tomatoes and sweet potatoes and basil. it's my entire personality now.

If you wanna keep bugs away you can plant rosemary, lavender and mint! Be very careful with mint though. It will spread fast and take over your entire garden.. I’d keep it in its own separate pot entirely, but it will keep bugs like cockroaches, spiders, ticks and even mice/rats away! Plus it smells good & fresh mint in some lemonade always hits good! Happy gardening! It’s too hot for a garden where I live so I’m living vicariously through you 🥹

Look into other plants that are natural pest deterrents! I saw a video on here a few months ago that talked about this. I miss growing plants it’s really healing ❤️🩹

I LOVE that you started a garden! 👏👏👏 Other than flowers and veggies, I love the gifts I get like bugs that have passed on, like a dragonfly, a butterfly, spiders and other creepy crawlers. I even found an entire snake skin. Maybe you can do videos on what you find and what to do with them. ❤️
