adding more stories to an old building without adding additional support sounds insane. the original support structure won't handle the extra weight. I'm not engineer but that seems like common sense

There’s no way this addition was done without a structural engineer’s approval. So either they didn’t follow the plans or someone is loosing their engineering license.
