Michael Ayekoo Smith :
I’ve known Kwame Akuffo for nearly 30 years, and although we haven’t seen each other recently, I can confidently speak to his brilliance as a lawyer and reasonable nature. He must, of course, defend his client vigorously.
From what I gather and this seems like common sense, the Will does address the issue of church leadership. While the Apostle didn’t name a successor directly, he did instruct the church council of elders to exercise their wisdom in appointing a new leader.
I heard Kwame mention that an injunction was placed on Akofena, but he didn’t clarify whether the council of elders, who appointed Akofena as the new leader, had been served. I’m also curious about Adwoa Sarfo’s intentions; I previously assumed she was mainly focused on family leadership, not on leading the church herself.
In my view, Kwame and his client should concentrate on the church council of elders rather than solely on Akofena, since it was the council that officially installed him, a fact we all witnessed. Perhaps they seek a court ruling to declare Akofena’s installation void, but I wonder if they would succeed, given that the Will emphasizes the council's role in making the appointment.
