The first martyrs recorded in North Africa are: Scillitan Martyrs (180 AD) – They are the first recorded Christian martyrs of Roman North Africa. * Executed on 17 July 180 AD in Carthage. * They came from Scillium (likely in modern Tunisia or Algeria). * They were beheaded after refusing to renounce Christianity.
