The avoidant after the narcissist was the worse pain I've ever endured. I truly broke to the core... I wouldn't wish it on anyone. 3 years later he's getting married and I'm only healed enough to go on a date. No one will ever understand how truly shattering it is.

I never got an apology from him, but I did apologize to myself for self abandoning and tolerating his mistreatment. And then, I took it a step further and committed to doing the work to heal the part of me that thought this kind of behavior in a relationship was ok. And finally, I forgave myself. I know they like to say, “they always come back”, but mine never did. And I’m so grateful he didn’t. Because as it turns out, the only validation I really needed was my own. Hugs to all of you who are going through this. I remember how it felt, and it was miserable. That said, I believe in all of you and I know that all of you deserve better 💕
