My mom grew up in a village that was wa behind the times, and they still had to call an operator to get connected to someone in the 70s. They had one lady working the lines at night for ages who my grandma hated because she'd not only do this, she'd listen in on people's calls, too, like - bitch, you must be joking.

What I’d give to have worked for a call center before “this call may be recorded for quality and training purposes” and “please stay on the line for a brief survey after the call.” The way I would hang up so fast after someone got disrespectful😂😂 or just cuss them out 😂
