@itvnews: Women with suspected endometriosis may no longer have to spend years trying to get a diagnosis thanks to new "game-changer" tests approved for use in the GP surgery. In a bid to dramatically cut the time it takes for women to be told whether they have the condition, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (Nice) has given the green light to EndoSure and Endotest on the NHS. #endometriosis #health #nhs
Just got diagnosed after 7 years, it’s not about the testing, it’s about being believed.

Took me 9 years. 9 years before I gave up on the NHS and was forced to go privately. I had the laparoscopy and surprise surprise… endometriosis.

I have endometriosis and my doctor told me that the test were negative but around 2 years later I went to the gynecologist and she casually mentioned that I have endometriosis even showing my mother where in my file it were😭

What about the management after diagnosis? That’s where the issue lies. I was diagnosed and placed straight on birth control. Zero management. 12 years later my endometriosis was at stage 4. Detecting the disease isn’t the issue, it’s the management of the disease.

There needs to be more of a lawsuit culture in this country because what do you mean some people are suffering for decades (having all aspects of their life destroyed - employment, relationships, fertility, social life even…) and the system is not being held responsible??!
