The comments are pissing me off so much 😭 saying you owe people nothing is a disease this generation is infected with I swear. I was friends with a person who was AWFUL to me and my friends and it was absolutely my fault for staying friends with them as long as I did. I had my feelings played with and was emotionally taken advantage of, and they hurt people I cared about. I didn’t ghost them, didn’t just block and run. I wrote a 2500 word essay on every reason I was leaving, and I simply just blocked them on everything without giving a chance to answer after I sent it 🤷 you don’t need to wait for a reply or argue, but giving somebody a reason is absolutely necessary. If you were speaking with somebody to begin with, whether you knew them for years or a few weeks, they deserve to know what went wrong at the very minimum. People need to know so they can change as a person or even if they don’t, have the opportunity to. You don’t owe people things in life, but you should care enough about another person to at least tell them what they did to deserve being cut off from your life. There are very few situations I can think of that ghosting somebody out of nowhere would be more effective than just taking the time to explain it to them. You don’t need to argue or wait for a response, but closure is a blessing on both ends. You know you did your part in whatever relationship you had, friends or not, to let them understand.
