Sitting here listening to this in the most recent place God put me (moved me from Virginia to Central Java, Indonesia) and I’m reminded of a message I heard at one of the retreats that ultimately led me here on this mission. We were to go spend time alone in meditation on the idea that God has a name for us in Heaven. The prompts suggested we would discover that the name might not be the one we have here, or it could be. My whole life I struggled with the idea that I was worthy of God’s love, that I was never “good enough”. I didn’t become a Christian until I was 32, and it wasn’t until I was 48 before I heard Him tell me that He loved me. It wasn’t until I was 51 until I heard the name He calls me. It was a confirmation that changed everything for me. My name is David. When I asked God for my name in Heaven I kept hearing the answer like an echo “what is your name?”. I remember saying outloud, almost angry that “I AM DAVID!”. This didn’t make sense until now. 4 years later, at 56 years old, He put the final piece into place. I cannot be anything without Him, but WITH HIM, “I AM-DAVID”. I am……the beloved son of the most amazing God.
