As a recovered covert narcissist myself, narcissm is absolutely recoverable. The "cure" isn't as clear like infections or diseases, but with consistent self effort (and unfortunately for me, a deep enough narcissistic wound), I managed to recover and now advocate for counseling and therapy myself. The human heart is fixable. Not easy, but saying it's impossible is untrue. Religion helped me too.

of course it can be fixed. if a person understands right from wrong, they can learn if THEY WANT TO, how to care about other ppls feelings. of course it takes a conscious effort but if they want to, they can definitely change.

excuse me? therapy can help but only if the person with NPD has the dyscypline to go through the lengthy process. Personality is a cosntruct and it can be reconstructed. Cognitive empathy can be learned, please don't stigmatize people.

Actually a doctor who studies this found that the way to healing is if they are in relationship with someone they truly love. True love can heal.
