Zero-One dropped the ball hard when they introduced Gai. When they revealed his backstory then he became the worst character in the show and it’s not even because of him. It was because of dumb writing. Then they tried to salvage him by making him a jobber, but that made him a poor man’s Shin Dan Kuroto (who had a more justified villain origin).
