Walmart does this every inflation jump. they raise their prices to match target and other retail outlets, then then "roll back" prices. it's the business model.

I get A&W root beer 12 pack at Walmart. The previous 3 months it’s been $5. Today it was almost $9. So, no they aren’t lowering prices.

If they can easily lower the prices. Then those prices were never really regulated. That’s called price gouging. Lowering the price whenever it’s convenient for them.
