I agree and it is annoying. How you deliver things can increase your chances of success though. Sometimes conversations focused entirely on what is true can sound accusational and can put people on the defensive. I totally hear your sentiment though

yea people in the comments talking about "there's got to be a balance" like sure. but the point is that too many people are prioritizing the wrong thing. the delivery most of the time is correct until the receiver does something frustrating that makes the deliverer change the approach thus **now the delivery seems inappropriate then the tone policing happens.

Actually delivery matters because there's a time and place for everything and sometimes that's determined by your mental state. So if someone is being emotional about something, regardless of how deserved it is in the moment, a bad delivery caused by a heightened emotional state may not get a point across as effectively as calmed discussion.

Arguing with someone’s ego is the biggest drain on my energy. I won’t do it anymore. If the discussion become an emotional battle of wills, then it’s over. They can go have a time out and come talk to me when they feel like being an adult.

This is somewhat tangential, but I hate this particular habit when discussing art. You can say "wow, that movie was bad; the writing was super illogical." And someone will gleefully go "Well that's just your opinion!" Yes I know! I'm the one who said it, that's how opinions work!
