You can do this with Aim7M as well. The criteria and the reason why this works is because if you are quick enough changing locks between targets, the game can’t register you dropping the lock, so all missiles continue to track, and because you’re hard locking the last guy you fired at, the missiles are all in track and the missiles think the hardlock is on the original target they were fired at.
