i’ve never thought about switching out toys every day. this is such a good idea. i’ve been noticing that i think my cat is bored and it def makes sense bc i keep all her toys out all the time!! thank you!!!

My cat has learned if she scratches the curtains, we get up and grab a toy to play with her. Now she pretends to scratch them by waving her paw near them and looks at us. If we acknowledge her or move, she runs to her toy basket.😂

I permanently have a bedsheet on the floor of my room because one of my cats favorite activities is to scratch at blankets. He nightly pulls the sheet into a ball and kicks it and wrestles with it and then settles it into a little nest that he makes biscuits on and he gets upset if I forget to lay it back flat for him by the next night. It completely got rid of one of his most annoying habits which was to knock all the clothes that I set out for work in the morning off my dresser. I thought he was just doing it for funsies and then one night I caught him doing it and realized he was trying to move them around under him, grabbed a sheet, put it on my floor, never again had an issue with my clothes ending up on the floor in the 4 years it’s been. I’m a firm believer that if a cat is being “bad” there’s a need that can be filled

also, just moving furniture around your house can stimulate them. like every once and a while i’ll leave a chair in a different place in the house and when i come home they’ll always be on it or inspecting it lol

I’ve started putting out controlled “naughty spots”. Something (safe) I wouldn’t normally leave out for them to explore/investigate that feels “forbidden”. Quells my chaos-baby’s desire to get into places she shouldn’t be. A halfhearted scold and a box of crumpled paper that smells like a safe herb/spice from my pantry, and she thinks she’s getting away with something and I know she’s safe.

My cats don’t really like toys, I’ve tried different ones and they just ignore them, but they are sweet babies. One of my cats favorite things is just jumping onto the top of doors.

I put up bird feeders for my cat and she’s locked in all of the time. I got a new suction cup window feeder yesterday and she smackin the window to get the birds😂

Fun cat hack: check target meijer or any other store that sells groceries and pet supplies. A lotttt of them have seasonal pet toys that go on clearance so you can stock up and your cat doesn’t know holidays and won’t know the difference :)
