actually, you should not replace your divots because in the end they still die because you severed the roots. if you take a divot just leave sand level and the grass will grow back.

golf courses use spreading grass in the fairways. doing this is actually worse. that grass had been severed at the root and is going to die. if you replace it, you prevent the grass from growing in. you should just fill it with sand. it promotes a flat service for the grass to grow into. also, most golf course use a sand and seed mix so it fills in even faster.

Please dont do that. You severed the roots that will turn yellow and smother and new growth that would come in… just refill will sand and pat down with your foot.
