There is a reason to the smell—they most likely didn’t smell like that before! It is due to the chemical bonds oxidizing over time, like the oils and alcohol. It’s curious to think of what these perfumes smelled like when they were brand new though

I think it’s just because the alcohol in it has settled so long. I love going to actual thrift & antique stores (not goodwill) and smelling all of the perfumes. I love how tiny they made them!
