IT support is a great stepping stone but it can’t be your final goal. I’m 21 and currently 8 months in my role operating mainly at 2nd line with cloud and security exposure and I’m almost done with my AZ-104. Trying to pivot to Infrastructure engineer but the job market is awful.

Currently in IT support on £38k and feel like I've hit the peak of support but the step out of support is still out of reach. I've done a few Microsoft certs but only foundation level ones, thinking of starting AZ-104 soon

Telecoms, not IT but the same generally applies. I left a comfortable £30k job by applying for a job (that I didn’t think I’d get) on a whim. Now, less than a year later, I’m earning over £10k more. Never let comfort get in the way of ambition, ambition allows you more comfort outside of work. 👍🏻

joined my company at 30k , been here for 4 yrs and im at 34k.. 3% increase each yr approx for inflation.. iv pushed my manager to join pbi projects but he mentions clients look for senior consultants, no opportunity to shadow.. im not having exposure to tools to learn ... im doing certs but not enough. im at a dats consultancy

I was web dev for 4 years. Company ran out of money so was unemployed for 8 months. In the end I had to take a it support role at a school, been enjoying it. however I am hoping to be back in development within 2 years or networking since there is a lot of server stuff I can learn.
