I calculated my FIRE and COAST FIRE numbers not because I plan on stopping my retirement savings, but because I just wanted to see where I stood...information and preparation are better than winging it when it comes to retirement planning 🫶 🚨Im going to explain "todays dollars" & hopefully its a moment of clarity for someone...so for example when a projection says "$2.4 million in today's dollars," it's saying: this will buy you the life that $2.4 million buys you today, even though the actual number printed on your statement in 2055 might read $4.6 million. I’m 32 targeting 8k per month by 48-50. Is this goal possible to reach? I’m at 60k invested with 23k in 401k annually + just starting to do 7.5k in Roth IRA annually. I also have a monthly 4k pension that is for life that increases with cost of living.
