The hardest part is learning you will be the one to travel to see anyone, they won't come to see you since they are all together. And then realizing how many get togethers you miss and they don't even invite you to. I moved away after 45 years and it has been the loneliest time of my life.

And every time you see your dad, you get sad bc he’s a little older than he was the last time you saw him 😭 it makes it so hard to leave. If my dad said i could move back home and stay in my old room, I’d do it in a heartbeat

living 1000 miles away from my favorite people is so hard. my parents and siblings are literally my bestfriends and going from seeing them everyday to nothing besides on facetime has been such a struggle…

Just dropped my mom off at the airport and I cried all the way home. LOVE my life in Florida but I miss my mommy and seeing her with her grand baby is the best. I’m so torn😭

i’m moving to michigan on wednesday. i’m excited but im sad that i wont be here to see my mom and brothers every single day. it’s toxic here and i see how sad its making my mom so the guilt is eating me up. i’m not having any regrets but it’s definitely making me second guess myself because i know im going to be fine but i will miss them. and i’ve just been continuously yelled at and said stuff to ever since i brought it up. i feel like im messing everything up with my family

Had this come out in 2003, when I was 23 years old & moving from the Midwest to Hawai’i, I probably would’ve sobbed. But now I’ve been here 23 years and I’ve been back to visit WAY more than anyone has ever been out to visit me & I have just practiced my radical acceptance that that’s just the way it is. 🙃

Unfortunately everything is hard when you decide to move! Originally from Kansas but lived in Georgia for 10 years. Moved back to Kansas a year ago! My heart will permanently be split in two. Doesn’t matter where I am I’m missing someone! 🤍 this probably doesn’t help but we are just a mosaic of everything we’ve ever loved.

Moved to the US from Rome 6 years ago, I miss my family and my friends every single day it hurts. Every time I go back I’m so happy to be there but when it’s almost time to go back I get depressed and I cry every single time 😭

GIRL ALMOST EXACT SAME BOAT 🥲 moved to Kansas almost a year ago now. And I am so proud of what we have built. A comfortable life is so much more feasible here but man I miss my friends & family :(
