Honestly, I thought it was just going to be your typical cute and fluffy high school romance, but OH MY GOD... it was heartbreaking! 😭 It’s a time-travel movie where a high school girl gets transported back to wartime Japan and meets a soldier who's serving in the war. As time goes on, they end up falling in love. Watching them fall for each other was honestly so sweet and heartwarming 😭, but the ending absolutely wrecked me, especially when Akira’s final letter to Yuri was read. That being said, I think the ending made total sense for the story. Want to know how it ends? You’ll just have to watch it for yourself! It’s SO good!!!! I felt like I hit the jackpot finding this gem. Plus, the overall tone and the cinematography were just stunning; I absolutely loved the visuals! Ultimately, this movie is a beautiful yet painful reminder of how devastating war is, and how it brutally tears apart innocent lives and love.
