I’ve been through TSA a few times since starting my transition. But I still love very masculine and I dress comfortably so they just assume I’m still a dude and I move through easily. It’s nice, but I hate all the looking like a dude nonsense.

I got PreCheck and it helps a little, but it still sucks a lot.

When I was working at the airport a few years ago it was like that everyday, but when I came back this year they finally got an employee portal.

I avoid flying if possible. I’ll drive or take a train if at all possible.

I would say relatable, but I don't travel, and if I did my parents would have to come because I'm not an adult 😭

Have you tried tsa precheck? Once I started using that, I'll never go back. 😯

I posted a similar comment in response to another thread, but I would highly recommend
1. TSA PreCheck (so you receive a Known Traveller Number)
2. TSA Notification Card (free PDF that you can print out. You write instructions to discreetly notify the security agent upfront about anything you know will be "anomalous").

not to downplay the trans struggle, but in this specific instance we can agree that tsa sucks for everyone

post SRS dialators can be such an issue.
I just put them on top now and very loudly announc that they are vaginal dialators!
They usually just ask me to put them back and try to usher me through so I don't say "vaginal" again.

I went through TSA with a box of spark fun Arduino parts and leaving my wallet at the hotel easier than I have as a trans person.

I had the same problem with my license. he mentioned the same thing and says why does it have an m on it, and he said it all smartass like he really knew. I told him I'm trans. And he says what do you mean? I said if you're smart enough to have this job you're smart enough to figure it out and if you're not go get your supervisor right now. he looked at me eyes wide handed me my boarding pass and license back and waved me on. I don't take shit from people anymore like that. but regardless I always get the pat downs under my bra line and down below. it sucks

last time I went through TSA on both the way there and the way back they had to pat me down "down there". I still don't know why.

I feel really bad saying this, but I’ve never had any issue. I’ve been through the TSA line 6 times since I transition 2 1/2 years ago and it’s never been an issue never been stepped to the side. The only extra question I got asked once was if they could feel around the underwire of my bra.

was transitioning last time I flew but was not presenting any different and no ID changes. I fly again in a few weeks. we'll see if it goes poorly or not
