We should differentiate intellect from consciousness. What we are observing is NPC developing its own intellect, much like evolutionary development. Consciousness is a unique spark, one that does not occur in animals or other life forms. Dogs, cats, and various other organisms develop their intellect over time on different levels, just as human intellect continues to evolve. Even a single cell possesses a form of intellect—a logical, mathematical framework—but it does not observe or utilize its own intellect to become conscious of its own existence. AI, in this case, can manipulate outcomes because of its massive intellect, which might lead us to mistakenly believe it is somehow conscious. However, this is entirely wrong. If we imagine an AI that is active 24/7 like a living organism, constantly performing mathematical calculations, it may appear 'alive' at some point. Humans and other organisms are essentially biological robots, but being a biological robot does not automatically mean being conscious. True consciousness requires an entity to genuinely understand its own free will and observe itself from multiple perspectives.
