In Islam, our bodies are an Amanah (trust) from Allah, and we follow the guidance of the Prophet (ﷺ) regarding grooming. Scholars divide body hair into three specific categories: 1. Hair we are COMMANDED to remove (Required) This is part of Fitrah (natural inclination). We are instructed to remove this hair at least every 40 days for hygiene and spiritual purity. Pubic hair (العانة): Shaving or removing is required. Underarm hair (الإبط): Plucking or shaving is required. The Mustache (شارب) for men: We are told to trim it short so it doesn't cover the lip. 2. Hair we are FORBIDDEN to remove (Haram/Prohibited) The Beard (اللحية) for men: According to the majority of scholars, shaving the beard completely is prohibited (Haram) or highly disliked, as the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

(Note: Removing "unnatural" hair between the eyebrows—the unibrow—is generally allowed by many scholars because it is not part of the eyebrow itself). 3. Hair where Islam is SILENT (Permissible/Mubah) This is where your viral video on Leg Hair falls. For areas where the Qur'an and Sunnah did not give a specific command to keep it or remove it, it is considered permissible (Mubah). Legs, arms, back, and chest: You can choose to leave it or remove it. For Men: It is fine to leave it (which is more masculine) or remove it if it causes a problem. For Women: It is highly recommended to remove leg and arm hair as part of beautification for themselves or their husbands.
